The Difference Between Yorkshire Terrier and Silky Terrier

The difference between Yorkshire Terrier and Silky Terrier mainly lies in the difference in appearance. The size and weight of these two dogs are relatively similar, but the Silky Terrier is still larger.

Yorkshire Terrier height: 18~23 cm, weight: 1.5~3kg;

Australian Silky Terrier height: 23cm, weight 4~5 kg;

Coat: Yorkshire Terrier body hair is of medium length, very straight (not curved), smooth; fine silky, not woolly. The hair on the head is long and hanging down, dark yellowish brown, and the hair on the sides of the head, the base of the ears and the muzzle is very long and dark. The brown color on the head cannot extend to the neck, nor can the black or dark black coat be mixed with other brown coats. Color: dark steel blue (not silver blue), extending from the occipital bone to the base of the tail, and will not mix with light yellow, copper or black coat. The chest hair is rich and bright brown. In all brown hair, the root color is darker than the middle color, and gradually becomes lighter towards the tip.

The coat of the Australian Silky Terrier must be flat, fine, shiny and of silky quality. The coat must not be so long that it interferes with the dog's movement, and it must be such that the luster of the dog's underside is visible. There should be no long hair on the front and rear feet. Color: All shades of blue and tan are acceptable, and the darker and clearer the color, the better. Silver and white are disqualifying. The blue on the tail should be very dark. Silver blue or light yellow topknot is best. The dispersion of blue and tan is as follows; tan around the base of the ears, muzzle and cheeks; blue from the bottom of the skull to the tip of the tail, along the front legs down to around the wrists and down the thighs to the hocks, brown The brown line goes down to the stifle joint, and from the wrist and hock to the toes and around the anus. There can be no tan or light yellow in the blue color of the body. Tan freckles don't have to look dirty. Puppies can be black, but blue must be available after 18 months of age.

Dogs may wish to eat some nutritional paste during the feeding process, which is useful for their growth.
