The coat of the Australian Silky Terrier must be flat, fine, shiny and of silky quality. The coat must not be so long that it interferes with the dog's movement, and it must be such that the luster of the dog's underside is visible. There should be no long hair on the front and rear feet. Color: All shades of blue and tan are acceptable, and the darker and clearer the color, the better. Silver and white are disqualifying. The blue on the tail should be very dark. Silver blue or light yellow topknot is best.
